Basketball Recap: Swampscott Takes a Loss

Swampscott has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to the Masconomet Regional Chieftains at home by a 65-48 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Big Blue can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Chieftains are ranked fifth).

Swampscott's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Masconomet Regional, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Swampscott will host Winthrop at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Masconomet Regional, they will face off against Peabody Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Masconomet Regional's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
