Center posted their closest victory since October 24, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Marysville Indians 3-2. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Center wouldn't go down easily and took Marysville into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21, 6-25, 24-26, 15-9.

Center's offense was headlined by Leah Roberts and Isabella Kossov, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Renee Bermejo and her 30 assists. Evalett Lor controlled things from the service line, finishing with 11 aces.

Center's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Marysville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Center has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Lincoln on the 23rd. As for Marysville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Oakmont on the 23rd.
