Basketball Recap: Hendersonville Skates Past Chase with Ease

Hendersonville waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chase Trojans 51-6. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Trojans are ranked 579th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hendersonville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Reid, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samiyah Smith, who put up ten points.

Hendersonville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Hendersonville pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.3 points over those games. As for Chase, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.

Hendersonville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-39 victory against East Rutherford on the 18th. Chase does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
