Baseball Recap: East Union Victorious

East Union won the last time they faced Sierra and things went their way on Friday too. The Lancers came out on top against the Timberwolves by a score of 6-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Joe Alvarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has become a key player for East Union: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Peyton Heath was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Blake Mount was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Heath wasn't the only one making solid contact: East Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Lancers are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

East Union now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Sierra, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

East Union didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 win against Mountain House on the 7th. As for Sierra, they have also already played their next match, a 4-1 victory against Weston Ranch on the 7th.
