Football Game Preview: Brooks Lions vs. Danville Hawks + How To Watch

The Brooks Lions will venture away from home to take on the Danville Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brooks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

It was a proper cat-fight when Brooks took on Lauderdale County on Thursday. The Lions enjoyed a cozy 38-21 win over the Tigers. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brooks found their leader in sophomore Tanner Bowens, who rushed for 162 yards and two scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 160 yards and a pair of TDs. The Lions' leading receiver Samuel Hamner was Bowens' top target yet again, picking up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Danville hadn't done well against East Lawrence recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. The Hawks took down the Eagles 20-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brooks now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Danville, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Brooks against Danville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 45-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
