World Cup Brazil: Where players from the United States went to high school

It's Match Day for the United States at the World Cup in Brazil.

After an inspiring appearance at the 2010 event in South Africa, fans of the USMNT have waited four long years to see the next chapter in South America.

The USA opens play Monday against nemesis Ghana, which has served knockout blows to the Americans in each of the past two World Cups.



Here is a look at where each of the 23 members of the USMNT attended high school. Due to commitments to club teams and national academies, many did not have a traditional high school sports experience.

Steven Beitashour, a 2005 graduate of San Jose (Calif.) Leland and a current member of the Vancouver Whitecaps, played for Iran in Brazil.
