Basketball Recap: Mountain Ridge Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mountain Ridge had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Clear Spring Blazers with a sharp 68-47 victory. The Miners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Owen McGeady had a dynamite game for Mountain Ridge, shooting 58% from the field to rack up 20 points and six assists. That's the most points McGeady has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Duncan, who put up 11 points and six boards.

McGeady wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Mountain Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. Mountain Ridge is 13-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Mountain Ridge pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points over those games. As for Clear Spring, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-23 record this season.

As of now, neither Mountain Ridge nor Clear Spring have any future games scheduled.
