Recap: Shoemaker Wolves vs. Aledo Bearcats
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Shoemaker Wolves, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their rough 27-6 defeat to Aledo on Thursday might stick with them for a while. Shoemaker's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Tyrieke Wade threw for 74 yards on eight of 22 attempts. Maurice Starr was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards. On the ground, Jerrod Hicks-Maddox rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Aledo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hauss Hejny led the charge by rushing for 37 yards and two touchdowns. Aledo also got a significant boost from Hawk Patrick-Daniels, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 137 yards.
Shoemaker's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Aledo, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
Shoemaker does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Aledo will head out on the road to face off against Lubbock-Cooper at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Lubbock-Cooper knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Aledo likes a good challenge.
