Football Recap: Corrigan-Camden Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Corrigan-Camden can now relate to. They were dealt a 59-21 loss at the hands of Garrison on Thursday. Corrigan-Camden just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.

William Ratliff and Derrick Reagie certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Ratliff rushed for 132 yards and one score, while Reagie rushed for 103 yards and one TD. Ratliff's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Paden Walker was in the mix too, providing Corrigan-Camden with one touchdown.

Riley McGuire was a one-man wrecking crew For Garrison. as he rushed for 107 yards and four scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 46 yards and one TD. McGuire's passing game has become a key predictor of Garrison's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carter Crawford, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries.

Corrigan-Camden now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Garrison, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Corrigan-Camden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Garrison, they will head out to square off against Elysian Fields at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
