Baseball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Whitney Wildcats

For the second straight game, Davis Sr. will face off against Whitney. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Davis Sr. is looking for their season's first win.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Davis Sr.'s offense. They came up short against Whitney on Tuesday, falling 10-0.

For Whitney's part, Lucas O'Neill looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. O'Neill also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Wildcats are 6-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Gavyn Dulaney was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Mason Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Whitney was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davis Sr. only posted a batting average of .067.

Davis Sr.'s defeat dropped their record down to 0-27. As for Whitney, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-16.
