Basketball Recap: University Comes Up Short

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belton Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-28 on January 7th.

University's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Belton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-17.

University and Belton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. University will face off against Ellison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 813 places (1008 vs. 195). Meanwhile, Belton (ranked 711th) will meet Chaparral (ranked 121st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
