Volleyball Game Preview: Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights vs. Oak Glen Golden Bears

Wheeling Central Catholic is 0-5 against Oak Glen since October of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Maroon Knights will venture away from home to take on the Golden Bears at 10:00 a.m.

Wheeling Central Catholic managed to slip by Tyler the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Maroon Knights lost 3-0 to the Knights on Wednesday.

While Wheeling Central Catholic was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Oak Glen posted their closest win since September 20th on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Wheeling Park 2-1. The Golden Bears haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Oak Glen who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 18-25, 25-12.

Oak Glen's win bumped their record up to 21-10-3. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

Wheeling Central Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Oak Glen in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Maroon Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
