Softball Recap: Crosby Extends Winning Streak to Three

Crosby entered their tilt with Kingwood Park on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Kingwood Park Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Tori Dahnke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Daniel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Jules Delome also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Crosby hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Crosby's record now sits at 9-4. As for Kingwood Park, they dropped their record down to 7-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Crosby and Kingwood Park should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Crosby (ranked 56th) will meet Pasadena (ranked 850th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Crosby's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Kingwood Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Kingwood Park will challenge West Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 454 places (63 vs. 517).
