Baseball Recap: Mountain Island Charter Takes a Loss

Mountain Island Charter and Hayesville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mountain Island Charter had to settle for second. They fell 8-4 to the Yellowjackets. The Raptors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2021.

Mountain Island Charter's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Hayesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Mountain Island Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hayesville, they will challenge Cherryville on Tuesday. The Ironmen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
