Baseball Recap: McLane Highlanders vs. Torres Toros

McLane can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They skirted past the Torres Toros 5-4. The win was just what McLane needed coming off of a 17-8 defeat in their prior contest.

Eddie Jimenez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Isaac Montes and Joe Musgraves did most of the damage at the plate: Montes scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Musgraves went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Leland Flores, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

McLane's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Torres, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

McLane will have a chance to go back-to-back against Torres: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
