Basketball Game Recap: Maryville Spoofhounds vs. Benton Cardinals

Maryville lost against Benton last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Maryville Spoofhounds might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 72-33 to the Benton Cardinals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Spoofhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Cardinals are ranked 13th).

Maryville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Benton, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Maryville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benton, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Benton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Lafayette likes a good challenge.
