Volleyball Recap: Leadership Academy Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Leadership Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bethany Community Wolves on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Leadership Academy was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 20-25, 25-8, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Charlotte Pugh and Cate Sellmer, who picked up 12 kills apiece. Sellmer really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 21. Finally, Medara Patron kept Leadership Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.

Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Bethany Community, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Leadership Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Triad Math and Science Academy on the 19th. As for Bethany Community, they will welcome Cornerstone Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
