Baseball Recap: Woods Cross Starts Season with Victory Against Spanish Fork

Woods Cross had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Spanish Fork Dons. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 6-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Woods Cross got a great performance from Heston White as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, White gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Woods Cross' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Max Moffat, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another was Thomas Pattison, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Looking ahead, Woods Cross will head out to face off against Skyline at 3:30 p.m. on March 11th. As for Spanish Fork, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-7 loss against Lehi on the 7th.
