Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Red Hawks vs. Farmington River Hawks

The Manchester Red Hawks will face off against the Farmington River Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Manchester knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Farmington likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Manchester humbled Middletown with a 100-66 victory. The Red Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Manchester's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Derrick Sheets, who posted 31 points. The contest was Sheets' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Chance Clark was another key player, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten assists.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Farmington). They walked away with a 62-55 win over Lakeview on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the River Hawks.

Manchester's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Farmington, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Manchester came up short against Farmington in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 68-61. Can Manchester avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
