Softball Recap: La Salle Comes Up Short

La Salle fell victim to Wilsonville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Friday.

Nora Hudson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, La Salle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eleanor Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

La Salle is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 17-5 Canby and 16-5 Canby (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.4% over those games). As for Wilsonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-6 record this season.
