Baseball Recap: Preston Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pocatello, Preston was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Century Diamondbacks, sneaking past 5-3. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Saager Keller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Preston's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Janson Hollingsworth, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. The Indians are 7-3 when Hollingsworth posts two or more runs, but 1-8 otherwise.

Preston's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Century, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Preston will square off against Pocatello at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Century does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
