Soccer Game Preview: Humboldt vs. AGWSR

The Humboldt Wildcats are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the AGWSR Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Humboldt's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Humboldt challenged Central Springs on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Humboldt have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, AGWSR had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Hampton-Dumont/CAL 10-0. AGWSR haven't had any issues with Hampton-Dumont/CAL recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Humboldt dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for AGWSR, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Humboldt came up short against AGWSR in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
