Baseball Preview: Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks vs. Ortonville Trojans        
        
		
            The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks will face off against the Ortonville Trojans at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Dawson-Boyd will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Ortonville's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them  on Monday: Dawson-Boyd hadn't allowed a single  run the last three times they've hit the field. The Blackjacks' pitcher stepped up to hand Adrian/Ellsworth  a   10-0 shutout  on Friday. The Blackjacks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six  runs or more this season.
 Colten Bothun was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Bothun was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Those  two  RBI gave  him a new career-high.

 In other batting news,  Kameron Sather was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eli Olson, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Ortonville, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Thursday. They came out on top against Ashby by a score of  3-0  on Friday. The  win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Dawson-Boyd pushed their record up to 10-2 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Ortonville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
 Everything went Dawson-Boyd's way against Ortonville when the teams last played  back in April of 2024, as Dawson-Boyd made off with  an  11-2 win. Will the Blackjacks repeat their success,  or do  the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
