Volleyball Game Preview: Skyline Coyotes vs. Mesa Jackrabbits

Skyline is 0-10 against Mesa since October of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Coyotes will look to defend their home court against the Jackrabbits at 6:00 p.m. Skyline will be strutting in after a win while Mesa will be coming in after a defeat.

Skyline will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Mountain View, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Coyotes were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Toros on Tuesday. The Coyotes not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0).

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-19.

Skyline's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elianna Bancroft, who had 17 assists. Bancroft is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Clara Lopez was another key player, getting nine kills and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Mesa lost 3-0 to Westwood on Tuesday.

Skyline's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-11. As for Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.

Skyline suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Mesa when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Coyotes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
