Football Recap: Peachtree Ridge Skates Past Berkmar with Ease

Peachtree Ridge won the last time they faced Berkmar and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions breezed past the Patriots to the tune of 41-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Patriots are ranked 365th).

Peachtree Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rayshaun Parks, who threw for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Parks' passing game has become a key predictor of the Lions' success: the team is 6-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Sojourn Parker was in the mix as well, providing Peachtree Ridge with one TD.

Peachtree Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jeremie McCall, Parker, and Declan Delaporte picked up one apiece. Peachtree Ridge received some extra help from Parker, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The win made it two in a row for Peachtree Ridge and bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points over those games. As for Berkmar, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

As of now, neither Peachtree Ridge nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
