Newkirk lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Ponca City, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Wildcats on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Grady Wood, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kyson Thiel, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Newkirk's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13-1. As for Ponca City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-24 record this season.

Newkirk will venture away from home to take on Tonkawa at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponca City, they will square off against Morrison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
