Baseball Recap: Early Drops Season-High Score on Chadwick

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Early). They blew past the Chadwick Cardinals 15-0 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Luke Francka made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cash Graves was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Early is undefeated when Graves posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Michael Doyle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Early was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Early's record now sits at 9-7. As for Chadwick, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Early will head out to face off against Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chadwick, they will square off against Humansville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.31 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
