Basketball Recap: Kings Mountain Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Kings Mountain won the last time they faced Forestview, and Kee'Donn Linney did his part to make sure it happened again. The Kings Mountain Mountaineers managed a 65-61 win over the Forestview Jaguars on Friday thanks in part to Linney, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was J'Myun Huskey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Semaj Hart, who went 6 for 12 en route to 19 points. That's the most points Hart has posted since back in November of 2024. Daijhon Young was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points along with five boards and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Kings Mountain and bumps their season record up to 8-7. As for Forestview, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Kings Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-57 win against Crest on the 22nd. As for Forestview, they will look to defend their home court on January 24th against Huss at 7:30 p.m. Huss will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Forestview surely won't give up without a fight.
