Softball Game Preview: Smith Vo-Tech Vikings vs. Southwick Regional Rams

The Smith Vo-Tech Vikings will head out to square off against the Southwick Regional Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Smith Vo-Tech didn't have quite enough to beat Holyoke and fell 10-9.

Meanwhile, Southwick Regional entered their tilt with Palmer on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Panthers. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

Brooke Comee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Comee wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Lightcap, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits Lightcap has posted since back in May of 2025.
