Tempe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 37-12 loss courtesy of the Valley Lutheran Flames.

Valley Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Viddiate Clinton, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Hernandez, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points along with five boards and four steals.

Tempe now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Valley Lutheran, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Tempe will venture away from home to square off against Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Lutheran, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-29 defeat against Highland Prep on the 3rd.
