Basketball Game Preview: Stafford Indians vs. Hylton Bulldogs

The Stafford Indians will square off against the Hylton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hylton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Stafford, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Stafford was able to grind out a solid win over Brooke Point, taking the game 44-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Hylton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Potomac Senior, falling 49-26. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Panthers are ranked 139th).

Despite the loss, Hylton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison Scroggins posted four points and five boards.

Hylton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Stafford, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Stafford took a serious blow against Hylton in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 54-15. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Stafford was down 34-7.
