Basketball Recap: Okeechobee Brahmans vs. Glades Central Raiders
There's no place like home for the Okeechobee Brahmans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-45 win over Glades Central on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Okeechobee also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Okeechobee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oliver Saunders, who scored 18 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Okeechobee pushed their record up to 14-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Glades Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.
Okeechobee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Lake Placid will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Brahmans are ranked 272nd). As for Glades Central, they will face off against the Golden Tornadoes at TBD on Tuesday.
