Softball Recap: William Allen Find Success

William Allen took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Louis E. Dieruff, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Canaries sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Huskies on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Canaries: when they faced off against the Huskies back in April, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

Ali Torrales made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Torrales was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

Torrales wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Briana Javier, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two hits gave Javier a new career-high. Domeris Arias was another, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

William Allen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

William Allen's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-16. As for Louis E. Dieruff, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither William Allen nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
