Baseball Recap: Halifax's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of 11 wins, Halifax's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-Valley Bulldogs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2022.

Josh Zahurak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Dayton Bittner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Halifax's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Tri-Valley, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Halifax and Tri-Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (104 vs. 480). Meanwhile, Tri-Valley (ranked 106th) will meet Pine Grove (ranked 308th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
