Preview: Lutheran South Academy Pioneers vs. Teague Lions
The Lutheran South Academy Pioneers and the Teague Lions will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Thursday, Lutheran South Academy came up short against Marlin and fell 44-34. While losing is never fun, Lutheran South Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while Marlin is ranked 144th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Makynna Robbins, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds. She scored a full 26.5% of Lutheran South Academy's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Anna Schepmann, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Teague was the victim of a rough 56-30 loss at the hands of Tatum on Thursday.
Lutheran South Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Teague, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
