Recap: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Venus Bulldogs
The Ferris Yellowjackets's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 53-44 win over Venus. That's another feather in the cap for Ferris, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ferris was led to victory by Carly Quiroz and Breck Dormady. Quiroz dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Dormady dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenna Dormady, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Ferris' victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Venus, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 10-17.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hillsboro the next time they take the court. Ferris will host Hillsboro at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Venus will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
