Football Game Preview: Lake Hamilton Wolves vs. Russellville Cyclones + Official Tickets

The Lake Hamilton Wolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Russellville Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Lake Hamilton and 11 for Russellville dating back to last season.

Lake Hamilton is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Shiloh Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolves were outmatched by the Saints and fell 63-12. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Saints are ranked sixth).

Lake Hamilton might have lost, but man, Jj Johnson was a machine: he rushed for 119 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. Johnson's longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Meanwhile, Russellville ended up a good deal behind Siloam Springs on Friday and lost 21-6.

Russellville's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lake Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Lake Hamilton against Russellville in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
