Softball Recap: Pioneer's Run of Seven Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Pioneer unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Vela Sabercats by a score of 6-5. The Diamondbacks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sabercats earlier this season, when they won 13-12.

Pioneer's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. As for Vela, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pioneer will take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vela, they will face off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 6:30 a.m. on March 28th.
