Softball Recap: San Juan Broncos vs. Kirtland Central Broncos
If San Juan was riding high fresh off their 21-0 takedown of East Mountain on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. San Juan fell 5-2 to Kirtland Central on Friday. San Juan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kirtland Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Khatira Keith put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Averie Gilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.
