Basketball Recap: Tiftarea Academy Takes a Loss

Tiftarea Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 58-51 to the Terrell Academy Eagles on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Eagles are ranked 353rd).

Tiftarea Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Terrell Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-8 record.

Tiftarea Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Valwood at 7:45 p.m. on January 31st. As for Terrell Academy, they will square off against Deerfield-Windsor at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Deerfield-Windsor will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Terrell Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
