Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Brunswick's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Brunswick extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Heze Kent. The Brunswick Pirates simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the South Effingham Mustangs 93-57 thanks in part to Kent, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 17 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times he's played.

Gavin Creel was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two).

Despite the defeat, South Effingham had strong showings from Marcus Campbell, who went 7 for 13 en route to 20 points, and Corbin Mcguire, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Nelson Rivera, who earned four points.

Brunswick is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. As for South Effingham, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Brunswick will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Statesboro at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Brunswick's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for South Effingham, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-56 loss against Effingham County on the 5th.
