Basketball Recap: ALA - West Foothills Falls Despite Big Games from Aiden Anaya and Blake Lunt

ALA - West Foothills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 67-53 bruising from the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes. While losing is never fun, the Guardians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Coyotes are ranked 88th).

ALA - West Foothills' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Blake Lunt, who posted 14 points and five assists, and Aiden Anaya, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Anaya a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Trythall, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Leading Arizona Lutheran Academy to victory were Owen Beilke and Cash Hill. Beilke dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 boards, while Hill dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 steals. With that strong performance, Hill is now averaging an impressive 3.4 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Sebi Guye, who put up two points in addition to six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

ALA - West Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-3.

ALA - West Foothills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 88-49 win against Wickenburg on the 5th. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-48 victory against Camp Verde on the 6th.
