Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is White Pine's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

White Pine won the last time they faced Lake Mead Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 18-2 victory. Considering the Bobcats have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gianna Sedlacek made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenna Brunson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

White Pine hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Mead Christian Academy struck out eight times.

White Pine has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, White Pine will face off against Lincoln County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lynx will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. Lake Mead Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
