Basketball Recap: Hozho Academy Takes a Loss

Hozho Academy lost against Menaul back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wolves came up short against the Panthers, falling 72-52.

J'Quan Samuels was nothing short of spectacular for Menaul: he dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Samuels is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Gustas Komparskas was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Hozho Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Menaul, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Hozho Academy will challenge Zuni at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Menaul, they will welcome Sandia Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
