Baseball Recap: Armstrong Victorious

Armstrong never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against the Iroquois West Raiders by a score of 4-0. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 7-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Traxton Roberts made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

Roberts wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rhys Showalter, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Armstrong and bumps their season record up to 13-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Iroquois West, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9.
