Football Recap: Shaw Falls to Central Hinds Academy in First Game of Season

Shaw unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Hinds Academy Cougars on Friday.

Central Hinds Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jay Shuff out in front who rushed for 90 yards and one score, and also threw for 90 yards and a pair of TDs.

Central Hinds Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Shaw is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Leland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Hinds Academy, they will welcome North Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
