Baseball Recap: Mount Desert Island Takes a Loss

Mount Desert Island managed to slip by John Bapst Memorial the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans came up short against the Crusaders on Thursday, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered against the Crusaders since May 2, 2022.

Preston Tripp was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Tripp was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Tripp wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Grierson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Mount Desert Island dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for John Bapst Memorial, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
