Baseball Game Preview: Live Oak Acorns vs. Del Mar Dons

For the second straight game, Live Oak will face off against Del Mar. The Acorns will head out on the road to challenge the Dons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Live Oak has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Live Oak couldn't beat Del Mar on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Acorns fell just short of the Dons by a score of 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Acorns have lost by just one run.

Jonah Chattha led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Live Oak is 4-1 when Chattha posts two or more runs, but 5-14 otherwise. Casey Scannell was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Live Oak has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.
