Delta River League recap October 22, 2013
Jake Browning and Will McClure provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Jesuit. The longest such play in Delta River League this season, the connection resulted in 81 yards.
Pleasant Grove added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ponderosa, 46-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Eagles.
Browning threw for 443 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Browning put up the best numbers through the air as Folsom defeated the Marauders. Browning's favorite target this week was McClure, who caught 4 passes for 135 yards.
The Bulldogs' Browning and McClure have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Browning has thrown for 2,791 yards this season, while McClure has 43 catches for 915 yards. Jesuit's Ben Parietti leads the league in rushing yards with 764.
McClure of the Folsom's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 85 receiving yards in this week's game against Sheldon to get there. He has recorded 43 catches for 915 yards this year.
An important game coming up in Delta River League this week will be when Pleasant Grove takes on Marlon Blanton's team. Joe Cattolico's team is currently in first, while the Marauders are in fourth.
The Huskies fell to Oak Ridge 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nolan Merker was a bright spot for Sheldon, as he threw for 107 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss.
