Recap: May Tigers vs. Jonesboro Eagles
After a string of three wins, The May Tigers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-22 walloping at the hands of Jonesboro. While losing is never fun, May can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Jonesboro is ranked ninth).
Jacob Cisneros went supernova for Jonesboro, rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 153 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of DeMarcus Acoff, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
May's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Jonesboro, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
May does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jonesboro will head out on the road to face off against Evant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evant is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
